Chapter 1 - And we're back

Carol's a friend and neighbour from NB Jimsonweed, “Jim” for short.

...they have a Vizsla, Frank, with a huge personality and an Elvis curled top lip...

and Millie, a Bengal cat who’s beautiful and knows it.

The sun was shining, at least for the moment,
and the sky was wintry blue.

...the tall reeds spotted with warblers and buntings

...ducks slowly doing the rounds of the boats

...swans gliding with great grace and an air of superiority

March 2013, when we'd cruised back from Debdale Wharf
in a veritable winter wonderland

...this 59' by 6'10" tube that is our home

...the cottage we were renting in Borrowdale; a lovely
valley setting snuggled down between majestic hills

Water levels were already very high

The lakes took on a new beauty, even in the lightest of snow

The skies were amazing, the hills a coat of many
subtle colours across to the horizon

And it truly was winter still. The marina pound was frozen over.
