We moored at Goldstone Bridge.
It was a day of sun and scenery.
...a very slow convoy
...long stretches of dark and narrow, deep cuttings, wooded on both sides
and wonderfully dappled by the sun
...we moored at Brewood
...didn't leave our mooring until 9:00
...right at Autherly Junction
...the bottom lock of the Wolverhampton Flight
The Locks went easily enough
onto the Wyrley and Essington Canal ...narrow passes barely wide enough for a narrowboat
...a very pleasant, remote spot east of the Adam and Eve Bridge
Thursday started misty and mysterious.
an old working boat and butty pair... also festival-bound
Friday morning at Pelsall, and a sunny sky greeted us.
...we wandered around the site
...I found a mystery object under the engine
...there was a cheese boat and a jam and chutney boat, and a boat selling maps
The Harvesters, a bluegrass ensemble
...a downscaled steam traction engine
...birds of prey to handle
...vintage and classic cars
...a digger to drive
A great way to finish a great weekend!
